‘Temperance’ in Sunday School Chronicle

“Leytonstone - Cann Hall Road Congregational Church - The first annual tea in connection with the flourishing Band of Hope at the above place of worship (pastor Rev. C. Higgins) was held on Monday evening March 25th, and was well attended. After tea an exhibition of dissolving views was given by Mr. Bennett, of Leytonstone, to the children of the Sunday School and members of the Band of Hope combined. The views comprised scenes from 'Pilgrim's Progess', Cruickshank's 'Bottle', and 'Jessica's First Prayer', and appeared to highly interest and delight the audience.”
