“Isle of Sheppy - Baptist Chapel Sunday School, Halfway House, Near Sheerness - On Tuesday evening, Feb. 24th [falsches Datum, Anmerk.], the scholars were entertained with free tea, the expense of which was defrayed by the subcritions collected by Mr. W. J. Mills. After tea a most enjoyable lecture was listened to, entitled 'India,' given by Mr. Pardy, assisted with dissolving views. Mrs. Terry and Mrs. Banner and her daughters catered for the company. Rev. Hadler took the chair and after a few words of congratulation from Mr. Stanford, a most plesant evening was brought to a close.”
