‘Lectures with Dissolving Views’ in Sunday School Chronicle

“City Temple Sunday School - On Monday evening March 23rd, about 500 scholars of these schools were very instructively entertained by a lecture very ably delivered by Mr. John A. Boyd in the lecture-hall of the City Temple, entitled 'Heralds of the Gospel on the Dark Continent,' illustrated by excellent dissolving views of the Sunday School Union. During the evening hymns were thrown upon the view sheet, which were very heartily sung, and to add to the young folks' pleasure cakes and oranges were distributed before their dismissal at 9:30 p m.”
