“Porthsmouth - Highbury Sunday School - On Tuesday evening, Jan 20th, the annual treat was given to about 170 scholars in the school-room, Highbury-street. After tea a magic lantern entertainment was provided, consisting of scenes from 'The Life of Christ,' 'Bunyan's Pilgrim Process,' the Arctic Expedition, Natural History, comic sketches, chromo tropes, &c. The slides were shown by Mr. Richards, and the descriptive readings given by the Rev. Tidd Matson, the president of the school.”
