“Newport, I. W. - Castlehold Sunday School - On Thursday, Jan 15th, a tea was provided for the children of this school by the teacher and friends. About 250 were present. After tea the scholars were amused with games, recitations. &c. An adjournment was then made to the chapel, where some beautiful magic lantern views were shown by Mr. Dudley, Rev. H. J. Tresidder, Messrs. C. W. Coulsell and A. Walker in turn describing the various scenes. On leaving every child received a bun and an orange.”
