‘Intelligence’ in Sunday School Chronicle

“Bingley - The Independents have just had a very successful sale of work in their school-room for the purpose of clearing off a debt of £100, which was resting on the Sunday School. It was opened on Christmas-eve by Samuel White, Esq., of Gilshead Hall, and remained open on the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. A sacred concert was given by the choir in the chapel on Christmas-day, and magic lantern entertainments were given on the Wednesday and Saturday evenings, by Mr. A. Ambler, of Wilsden, and Mr. Hellewell, of Bradford. The young men connected with the Sunday School gave a series of miscellaneous entertainments during the sale. The movement has succeeded in raising close upon £130, so that the debt is mor than covered.”
