BURT, Charles (fl. 1880s-1900s) – lecturer
“Clerkenwell - Wilmington Mission - On Jan. 2nd the annual social meeting of this school was held in the lecture-hall of the Presbyterian Church. After tea Mr. C. Burt, of the Sunday School Union, gave a very interesting and instructive lecture on 'Trips taken by Road, by Rail, and by River.' The lecture and views were much admired and appreciated by the audience. Many expressions of high approbation were evinced at beholding the beautiful dissolving effects of Derbyshire and the Lake district scenery, especially several fine representations of gradual dawn to bright noon-day, from thence passing through several graduations of evening till the periods of full moon-light was reached. Altogether a very pleasant evening was passed.”
