SMITH, T. (fl. 1880s) – lecturer
Sunday School Union – organiser
“Senior Scholar's Entertainment, 56 Old Bailey, London - The closing meeting of the portion of the entertainments for this season was held on Tuesday evening, when Mr. T. Smith gave a lecture on 'Children of London Streets.' Mr. Nichols presided. The lecture was founded on the four well known stories, 'Alone in London,' 'Jessica's First Prayer,' 'Mother's Last Words,' and 'Our Father's Care,' and was illustrated by a splendid set of dissolving views prepared under the direction of the Lecturers' Commitee of the Sunday School Union. The leading incidents in the various stories were well represented, and Mr. Smith, in an interesting manner, gave the descriptive matter connecting the scenes. The lecture was listened to with great attention, and at the close the approval of the audience was heartily expressed.”
