HANDFORD, Percy (fl. 1880s) – lecturer
“Brixton - An interesting lecture was delivered last Monday week by Mr. Percy Handford in the school-room attached to the Wesleyan Chapel, Studley-road. The subject was a coasting voyage from the Thames to the Mersey, and the various places of note met with on the passage were illustrated by a numerous series of dissolving views. The school-room was well filled, and the audience showed their appreciation of the entertainment provided for them by frequent applause. The dissolving views were exceedingly good, those of Teignmouth, the Eddystone Lighthouse, and Pembroke Castle being especially deserving of praise. The proceeds of the lecture were handled over to the Juvenile Mission Society.”
