CARRUTHERS, Alfred G. (1857-1928) – lecturer
“Bedford - Bunyan's Rooms -'A Holiday Trip through North Wales' was the subject of a lecture delivered in the above rooms on Thursday evening, Feb. 10th, by Mr. A. G. Carruthers, the visitor of the Bedford Sunday School Union. The lecture was illustrated by about fifty magic lantern slides, most of them photographs of the delightful scenery of this part of the principality. The slides were hired from the London Sunday School Union. Mr. Councillor E. P. Rose presided, and the large room was quite crowded. The lecture was also delivered on Monday, the 7th inst., in the Old Meeting, Biggleswade, and in the Primitive Methodist Chapel, Gamlingay, on Wednesday, the 9th inst.”
