“Thurleigh, Bedfordshire - On Wednesday, Jan. 5th, a lecture with magic lantern illustrations, was delivered in the Baptist Chapel by Mr. A. G. Carruthers, the visitor of the Sunday School Union, the subject being, 'John Bunyan and the Pilgrim's Progress.' The Pastor, Mr. G. Chandler, presided. There was a large attendance. Hymns bearing upon the subject were sung during the evening. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. A. G. Carruthers for his lecture, and to his cousin, Mr. T. Carruthers, who exhibited the views. The meeting closed with singing.”
