ROBINS, Mr (fl. 1870s) – lecturer
Hampstead Band of Hope – organiser
“Hampstead - The children of the Band of Hope in connection with this school met on Wednesday, the 19th inst., for a pleasant evening at the school-room. The proceedings opened with a hymn, after which there was a magic lantern exhibition. The slides were illustrative of Robinson Crusoe's life and adventures, and were exhibited by Mr. Percy Benham, who kindly provided a beautiful lime-light lantern for the purpose. A short description of the slides as they passed was given my Mr. Robins. The connected series of pictures was followed by some views of places and people of interest. The hearty thanks of the school were then given to Mr. Benham by Mr. E. Southwell, for his trouble and kindness in providing so pleasant an entertainment. Mr. Gibbard then made a few remarks, and closed with prayer.”
