“Broughty Ferry. - Social Meeting. - The third annual soirée of Queen-street Sabbath School, was held in the God Templar's Hall. on Tuesday, Jan. 11th, the Rev. Andrew Carter presiding. After tea, Mr. Carter, in an very able address, impressed upon the children among other duties the place which music holds in the work of the school, pointing out the facilities they specially enjoy for its cultivation. After a few words of from special reference to the temperance cause. The sum collected by the children for missions having been duly allotted, an excellent series of lantern views, embracing sacred and secular subjects, was the exhibited by a gentleman from Dundee. Thanks were accorded to the Chairman and speakers and the teachers for their past services. ”
