HEADINGTON, J.J. (fl. 1870s) – lecturer
“Peckham - On Thursday evening, the 16th, Mr. G. T. Congreve gave his annual treat and entertainment to the scholars attending Rye-lane Schools, and their friends, at the Victoria Baths. The proceedings opened by the children partaking of tea, after which, at seven o'clock, a lecture was delivered by Mr. J. J. Headington, entitled 'A Visit to the Paris Exhibition,' which was illustrated with about 60 views of the principal and most noteworthy things and places connected with Paris and its Exposition. This was followed by an amusing story, entitled 'Buy your own Cherries,' the various incidents in which, as shown by the lantern, appeared to give very general satisfaction.”
