“King's Weigh House Sunday School - The parent's annual gathering took place on Wednesday, 20th instant. The proceedings opened with a social tea, at 6 p.m., about 140 partaking. In the upper schoolroom Mr. Evans (Lord's Day Rest Association) gave a terse, profitable lecture, illustrated with the panorama, entitled 'The Sabbath Day'; while classrooms on an intermediate floor were plentifully suplied with magazines, periodicals, etc., kindly furnished by various publishers - the novelties evidently affording much satisfaction. The public meeting - 220 persons present - commenced at 7.45, the chairman, J. E. Woolard Russell, the Superintendent, and Secretary, giving brief and practical addresses, inerspersed with hymns and sacred vocal selections.”
