BOYD, John A. (fl. 1870s-90s) – lecturer
City Temple and Milton Street Sunday School – organiser
“City Temple and Milton-Street - Winter treats are being fast superseeded by summer excursions, but the teachers of these schools wishing to meet their scholars in the week, invited them to tea on Monday, the 15th inst., when they assembled to the nummer of between 400 and 450. Having done ample justice to what was set before them, Mr. John A. Boyd, the superintendent of the branch school, delivered a lecture - 'A Tour through the Holy Land' - illustrated with the capital dissolving-views of the S. S. U. The lecture was listened to with considerable interest by the scholars, who gave many manifest tokens of their enjoyment of the proceedings. Mr. E. Harrison, superintendent of the City Temple School, presided.”
