“Ikley, Wharfdale - On Friday, January 11, a large number of the scholars and friends belonging to this school attended at the Grove Schoolroom, when an entertainment was provided in the shape of a magic lantern, worked by Mr. J. Bottomley, of Bradford, who exhibited a variety of Swiss and Italian scenes and sketches, together with a number of slides portraying incidents in the stories of 'Robinson Crusoe,' 'The Piper of Hamelin,' 'John Gilpin,' etc.”
