“Birmigham (Camp-Hill) Presbyterian Sunday School - The annual winter treat of the scholars attending these schools was held in the schoolroom on Monday evening, the 28th February. The attendance was over 300. After tea Walter Graham, Esq. distributed the prizes to the scholars. Between 40 and 50 books were then given away. The disappointment of the non-prize takers was then forgotten under the 'magic' influence of the local Sunday School Union's oxy-hydrogen lantern. The subject was 'The Life of David'. the Rev. J. M. McKerrow was the lecturer. Altogehter a happy night was spent.”
