‘Intelligence’ in Sunday School Chronicle

“Gray's Yard Sunday Ragged School and Church - A service of song, entitled 'The Prodigal Son' was held at Seymour Hall, on Monday 5th inst. The chair was taken by the treasurer of the school, G. Hanbury, Esq., and the connective portions were read by the Rev. Canon Wright, of Grosvenor Chapel, North Audley-street. The pieces were sung by choir of children from the school and the subject was illustrated by some well-executed dissolving views. A vote of thanks to the chaiman and the reader was moved by Philip Gough, Esq., seconded by Alfred Wood, Esq., and carried unanimously. The proceeds of the service were devoted to a fund for the purchase of a new harmonium for the church and schools.”
