“Islington Normal Class for Teachers and Candidates - The autumn session of this class, which has for several seasons been conducted in the Arundal-square Chapel schoolroom by Mr. W. H. Groser, was brought to a close on Tuesday last, the 15th inst, by a review of the quarter's course of meetings. The subjects discussed had been Biblical and educational, comprising the leading facts of Old Testament history from Adam to the death of Moses, and essentially of Sunday School teaching, such as instruction, impression, persuasion, and conversion. One of the evenings was devoted to a lecture by the president on 'The Wight Ways of Trating a Bible Lessson', which was re-delivered at the Sunday School Union, and appeared in No. 3 of THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRONICLE. The object of the committee has been to afford information which every young teacher ought to possess; and at the same time to prepare for the study of the 'International Lessons' for 1875. The class will (D.V.) resume its meetings on Tuesday, Jan 12th, when the president will deliver a lecture on 'Scenes in the Bilble Lands' (illustrated by the Sunday School Union panorama). The succeeding meetings will be devoted to the study of the afternoon lesson, from the books of Joshua and Judges.”
