“Lewisham Weslyean Band of Hope (College Park) - On Tuesday evening, March 25th, a dissolving view lecture entitled 'Africa: Egypt to Cape Colony' was given by Mr. Walter N. Edwards, of the United Kingdom Band of Hope Union, who, in about two hours, took his audience from the extreme north to the most southerly point of Africa, noting on the way many objects of interest. After the lecture miscelleanous views of statuary, landscapes, & c. were exhibited. The chromotropes were the best we have seen for a very long time and elicited shouts of applause. Mr. Edwards delivered the lecture in his usual hearty manner, and a most successful meeting was brought to a close by the Pastor proposing a vote of thanks to the lecturer.”
