S., gave a very interesting lecture, 'Are Intoxicating drinks food?' numerously illustrated. This was followed by an address by the Rev. I. Morley Wright, then Mr. C. Wakely delivered a lecture on 'Incidents of Peril and Heroism', illustrated by a splendind dissolving views.The lads from the Rev. C. H. Spurgeon's Stockwell Orphanage, gave a selection of pieces during the evening on their sweet-toned Hand Bells. A Ventriloquial Entertainment introducing the Cabinet of Oddities, by Mr. Thomas Lenton brought the Meeting to a close.”
