“Building Up the Converts - Capt. Bennet again visited this parish with the Chichester II Van, accompanied by Mr. Wheeler. In spite of the inclement weather, the meetings were very well attended. The feature of this visit were the Lantern Services in the Church on Sunday and Wednesday evenings after Evensong. These drew by far the largest congregations. The aim of this visit was less to break up new ground than to instruct and encourage those who in the previous mission had given themselves to God. Besides this, there were others, hitherto undecided, who came out definetely on God's side, and have offered themselves for baptism and confirmation. A. Boyle. (Vicar of Portsalde and Rector of Hangleton)”
