BLISS, Captain (fl. 1910s) – lecturer
Church Army Ely IV Van – organiser
“The Mount of Transfiguration - Mission Services have been held at Godmanchester, by the Ely IV. Van with Captain Bliss, each evening except Saturdays, and also special services for Men, for Women, and Children. The Lantern Services proved a great attraction, and the pictures illustrating the address 'To Calvary' were particularly beautiful and inspiring. The attendances were good at all meetings, and it is a subject for thankfulnessto Almighty God that many who were untouched by the refular ministrations of religion, came evening after evening to listen to the story of their Redeemer's love, and to sing the praise of our Lord. Capt. Bliss preched the need of real conversion to Christ, holiness of heart and life, and loyal and intelligent Churchmanship. The permanent results of the Mission we leave with God. We read that after our Blessed Lord's Transfiguration, when Moses and Elijah had departed from Him (...). Parish Magazine.”
