ROWLANDS, Captain Rowland  (c.1855-1917) – lecturer

Reference
‘Flashes From the Fight’ in Church Army gazette

“His First Visit - Capt. Rowlands held an open-air Mission in the parish of St. Mark's, Levenshulme, Manchester. Our church members, men and women, turned out in splendid numbers, also the Rector, his wife and family came each night, his eldest daughter presiding at the organ. Large crowds stood to listen to the earnest words of the Rector and the Missioners. Capt. Rowlands spoke on Sunday afternoon in the church. On Saturday night, he gave his Lantern Lecture, 'My Life's Story', and we left feeling that Jesus is mighty to save. On Sunday night the Captain gave his last address in the church. God has indeed been with us. Our prayers go with thee little man, in his noble work, and we hope to see him again in our midst. W.J. G. for Rev. J. Wood, Rector.”
