“Luton, Beds., St. Matthew's.-Last Monday, we recommenced for the winter months our 'Happy Evenings' by a Service of Song. The attendance was large, and the collection, which was made at the door, amounted to 17s. 2d. We had an excellent and well-attended Magic Lantern Service on Sunday, the subject being The Life of Our Lord. On the Tuesday we had a good number present to listen to the story, 'Given in Charge,' which was also repeated for the children on Wednesday evening. The Rev. Webb, our curate, kindly lent his lantern. The collections amounted to £1. Our GAZETTE Brigade is working well, and once a month we meet together for dicussion. Our Nurse Lambert is a good help, and we thank God and take courage, prying that we all may shine for Him. William Davey, Capt.”
