EBRAGE, Nurse (fl. 1890s) – lecturer
WING, J. (fl. 1890s) – lantern operator
“Worksop, St. John's - On the evening of January 26th, we held our first lantern lecture in connection with the C.A. here; the C.A. slides being used illustrating the Life of Christ. We commenced by singing the well-known hymn, 'Work, for the night is coming' (from the sheet), all present joining in. An earnest prayer was then offered up by our Vicar, the Rev. G. Dobree. The lecture was clearly and earnestly delivered by our Nurse, and was listened to with great attention, all seeming deeply interested and impressed. (...) The lecture was brought to a close by singing the 'Jesus shall reign', &c. The vicar then thanked Mr. J. Wing and Miss Wing for kindly lending and working the lantern, after which hot coffee and mince pics were servedround to each one present by willing helpers. We sincerely thank our friends who so kindly assisted us. Over 150 were present. (...) For NURSE EBRAGE.”
