“'In Unknown Land': The Manchester No. II Van under the command of Capt. Prescott, recently paid a visit to this parish. I believe this is the first visit of the Church Army Missioners to this part of Heywood, and very few of our people knew anything of the great work the Church Army is doing in so many of our large towns ans straggling, sleepy, neglected villages. The meetings were held in the schoolroom and were very well attended. They were bright and attractive, the lantern services adding much to their popularity. (...)”
