Church Army Liverpool I Van – organiser
“'We Will Not': Capt. Tatham and Parker of Liverpool No I Van have just finished a three weeks mission. On Saturday we had a tea party and lantern service. We enlisted the services of the Young Men's Bible Class, whose energetic work among us has been the means of making everything so decided a success. The food was all given by friends and well-wishers of the C. A. who afterwards came and paid to partake of the good things they had provided. After Tea Mr. Lawson lent his powerful Lantern, and the views were thrown upon the screen, illustrating the work of the CA. Capt. Tatham and Nurse Irwin, of St. Helen's told of the work both men and women. The proceedings realized the sum of ₤6 5s. 8d., which has been handed over to Capt. Tatham (...), and we sincerely pray to God that it may be the means of helping in God's work in some other parish.”
