GODDEN, Captain (fl. 1890s-1900s) – lecturer
Church Army Canterbury I Van – organiser
“'A Visit From the Van Inspector': On Monday, Capt. Godden, assissted by Capt. Broadie, arrived in the Canterbury Van I, and camped on the ground close to the school. The services were held in the schoolroom each evening at 7 and on Sundays at 6.30. (...) Capt. Godden's lectures and lantern readings were very impressive; the meetings were very successful considering the stormy weather of the past three weeks.”
