“'Light at Midnight': The Missioners attached to the West London Van have been holding a series of Lantern Services in the Ashford Mission Room. Two services have been held nightly, one for children, the other for adults. All meetings have been well attended, the pictures shown so ably explained by Capt. Pallister must have gone home to hearts of many. On Saturday night open-air service was held at 11 o'clock , just catching men coming from the public houses; the lantern attracted their attention, and by this means a total of 175 was counted for the two nights who stood and listened. As picture after picture was flashed on the sheet showing evil's of drink, the Captain sent some straight talk home (...)”
