“'Cornish Gipsies': A Van, in charge of Captain Difford and Bro Bridger, has been stationed here. Mission services have been held nightly and have been well atttended considering the season of the year. On Mondays, a Lantern Lecture on the social and general work of the Church Army was given, the chair being taken by the Rector. A goodly number of persons were present and listened with much interest. The lantern lecture illustrating illustrating the life of our Blessed Lord call for speical intention; the vivid pictures, described with much feeling and solemnity by Capt. Difford, succeeded in touching the hearts of not a few of those who were present. (...) During July, Capt. Difford preached every Sunday evening in the Mission Church to good congregtions. (...)”
