“'A Welcome Visitor': The village has recently been visited by one of the Church Army Vans for a fortnight's mission. Conducted by Capt. G. Haynes, assisted by Cadet Lane, it came to a conclusion all too soon. (...) The Lantern services were much enjoyed by both adults and children, the captain was very kind in having children services arranged before those arranged by adults, and he spoke very earnestly to the mothers at their meetings and gave interesting and instructive addresses to the children on the Sunday afternoon at Sunday School.”
