“'Painters Help Preachers': We have just begun Church Army work in the mission district of our large parish, and on Tuesday we had our first C.A. Tea in order to welcome Capt. And Mrs. Skinner, who have just come to work amongst us. The number showed that the work of the past few weeks was bearing fruit, for about 200 sat down to a really good tea (...). In the evening, our vicar, Rev. W. J. Cole, kindly came and gave us a lantern lecture, illustrated by limelight, entitled 'Sacred Pictures by the Great Masters'. It was a most impressive time (...)”
