“'Shooting with Winged Arrows': The visit of the Church Army Van, Durham II, to St. Patrick's was a time of great encouragment to all the workers in the district (...). Capt. Robson, aided by Capt. Richardson, worked hard and well, night after night, in open-air meetings and lantern services, and were able to visit many homes during the day. Once or twice their lantern tried to play the audience tricks, but they were men of resource, and when acetylene failed they fell back on an oil lamp. Lantern slides, from the Winged Arrows series, formed very telling texts for short addresses and there were temperance stories and an excellent set of slides illustrating the Life of our Lord. (...)”
