“'Abundant Evidence': The Van (Winchester No 2 ) has been with us for a fortnight,and I can cordially testify that the visit of Capt. Thompson and Brother Darlington has been of profit to the parish. Services have been held every evening, except Saturdays, during the first week, in the schoolroom and afterwards in the church. Addresses have been given to the Mother's Union, Band of Hope, and there have been two special services for men, some have attended who certainly were not in the habit of going to any place of worship. Most of the services have been well attended, and have been marked by a very quiet and reverent tone. Capt. Thompson's addresses are very earnest and appropriate, those explanatory of the lantern views of our Lord's life are especially touching and devotional, and well calculated to to quicken spititual life. (...)”
