“'Tea and Slides': Through the kindness of a lady we took some of our young workers for an outing to Eagland Hill (Pilling) on Saturday afternoon. We had tea at a farmhouse and stayed for the lantern service at night. Capt. Bywater and Brothers Chambers and Toplis were most kind to the children.”
