“'Is It I?': We have again had a visit from the Happy Little Welshman (Capt. Rowlands). (...) the Parochial Hall has been nicely filled at most of our meetings, and many have received blessings from God. The lantern lectures 'Is It I?' and 'Beware of Gambling' made an impression. We have to thank Capt. Steel from Emmanuel Parish, also Capt. Waddle from Saviour's, and the soldiers for the help given on Tuesday – a splendid crowd in open-air. (...) On Thursday Capt. Rowlands gave us a lecture on C. A. Work, illsutrated by the lantern. A large number came, and the chair was taken Mr. Smith, one of the Churchwardens (...). Capt. Harper of St. Thomas' Paish, gave the children a lantern lecture on Friday, which was much enjoyed. (...)”
