“'From Contenment to Want': For the last fortnight this little village has been quite roused up from a state of self-contentment to a longing desire for sprititual blessings. The Lichfield No. 2 C. A. With Capt. Crook and Brothers Clare and Hamilton, has been stationed here. They have held services every evening in the mission toom and have shown by daily attendance that the earnest and loving pleadings by Capt. Crook to lead a higher and more spiritual life have not been in vain, for the room has been well-filled every evening. (...) The lantern lectures on the 'Life of our Lord' were well attended, indeed the room was over-crowded to overflowing. Some may have been wanderers from the fold, some may have come out of curiosity. (...)”
