“'A General Smash Up': The officers of the Truro I Van commenced work here on New Year's Eve (...). Services were held in the Good Mission Shepard Church, and a lantern service on Sunday evening attracted a large number. At the end of a week the Van was removed to another part of the parish where similar work was done. The lantern services for children and adults were well attended. The people packed the rooms to excess, and those outside, in trying to get a view of the pictures, broke the windows. We believe some who came inside had their hearts broken also. (...)”
