“'He believed in a change of diet.' Ash, near Dover, Kent. - The Canterbury No.I Van, in chrage of Capt. Godden, assisted by Bros. Broadie and Morton come to this village last April to hold a mission (a thing never heard before). The Van was placed near the schools, and, through the kindness of the vicar, meetings were held every night in the schools (Saturdays excepted) which were well attended. And 'God, in the midst of us, was mighty.' Capt. Godden is one who believes in a change of diet, so he would sometimes have a lantern service, sometimes a gospel service, and sometimes a 'come and see' meeting; during their stay the schools were often full, while we believ God was doing his work in the hearts of many a hangry soul. Truly they had what is caled a good time, while working with us, and yet, one is more than surpriesed at the way in which God has been pleased to bless the mission to many a needy soul. It has been the prayer of many, that some result might follow the good work begun. And, Through it is more than four months ago since the Van was here, special work has now begun (to Him be the glory). Miss MArtin, one among many others who received special blessing through the mission, has come forward and offered to become the C.A. GAZETTE Agent for the parish; she began last week by selling twenty-five and now sends for thirty-six, so we are sure that God means to bless this good work begun in His name to the salvation of many a soul; let us pray that it may be so, and we shall see answer to our prayers even if it be 'after many days.'
