“'Among the Lace Makers.' - Nottingham, St. Mary's. - On Feb. 4, a successful Church Army tea was held in St. Mary's Hall, organised by Capt. Cowley, about 160 sitting down for tea. This was followed by a Service of Song, 'The Torn Bible,' illustrated by lantern slides, Capt. Cowley singing as one solo, the beautiful hymn, 'Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling.' The hall was crowded, the service being thouroughly enjoyed by al present. Fro Capt Cowley.”
