“'Plenty of Pleasure.' - Pontefract, All Saints'. - A Bright and happy week has just passed at our little mission room. On Sunday we had our usual meeting, which was addressed by our captain. HE took the life of St. Peter. Thank God it ended in one soul saying he would lead a better life. On Monday we had a lantern service and we feel that God is blessing our efforts; it makes us feel, as the pictures are trown upon the sheet, what a joyous life we Christians lead. Thank God for the lantern services. On Thursday we had our welcome tea to Capt. and Mrs. Ritson, to which about 130 sat down. After tea we had a service of song, rendered by the choir, entitled, 'Rhoda; or a gipsy girl's love,' which they gave beautifully. The reader was our treasurer (Mr.W.Moxon), who, by his kindly manner, found his was to many hearts. We also had Capt. Patrick, from the Van, and Councillor Moxen spoke a few words to us about being so pleased to see so many old faces. We had our usual coffee supper on Saturday, and spent a very enjoyable evening, which brings to a close a very happy and joyful week spent in the service of God. G.W., for Capt. Ritson.”
