Church Army Ely I Van – organiser
“LIGHT IN THE FENS Fen Drayton, Cambs. - I have much pleasure upon behalf of the people of this village in recording our gratitude to God for the visit of the Church Army Van 'Ely' I. in charge of Capt. Parker, with Bro. Grevette. They held Services in our spacious schoolroom, assisted by Rev. -. Young, which were well attended every evening. Their preaching and lantern slides were so fully explained that people of all ages enjoyed them, and anxiously awaited the next evening's subject. They were untiring their efforts eo explain to their hearers the words 'Choose you this day whom you will serve'. They were entertained at sevveral houses during their stay and many small gifts were sent to the Van. The box at the door was not forgotten, and the people semmed to have very sorry to lose sight of the Van; we wish them Godspeed. A. R.”
