“WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? New Shoreham, St. Mary's. - A bright and happy reunion took place in the Schoolroom on Thursday, Jan. 26. The Meeting was organised by the C.A. Auxiliaries, Capt. Prince and Brother Stanley coming from Cuckfield to assist. At 6 p.m. we had a meeting of workers to welcome the Captain and his colleague. At 7 p.m. the room was packed with eager audience, considerably over 200 being present. The first part of the meeting was taken with Musical drill by the girls, and recitations by eight little mites (under 8). Great credit is due for one way in which this was conducted. After this, the Vicar, ( Rev. C. M. A. Tower) being obliged to leave thanked those who had taken part in getting the meeting together, and was sure that all present would agree with him in wishing Capt. Prince, Brother Stanley and the C. A. 'many happy returns of the day'. He hoped those that that he saw there would take away some useful lesson, and if not already workers, would become so. After a short prayer, he left, wishing every success. Capt. Prince then gave an Address on the Parables, illustrated by Lantern Slides, 'The Sower' being given in detail, after which Bro. Stanley spoke on 'The Love of Christ constraineth us,' giving examples of men who had given up worldly ideas of greatness, working for the Love of God when He called them. Before closing, Mr. Clarke gave notice that the C. A. Auxiliaries would gladly welcome all who wished to attend meetings that are to be held fo the purpose of reading together 'Our Example' and to discuss the best way of answering the question, 'What would Jesus do?' as individuals and as a community. The meeting closed with prayer and a hymn. C. J. F.”
