“'In the Factory'. Radford, Holy Trinity. - The Church Army Van, in charge of Capt. Dearden, has visited us, and stayed a week. Special Services were held. Capt. Dearden and his Cadets visited King's Fields (which is situated about a mile away), by request of some friends there, and gave 'Her Bennie', in the dining-room at the factory. On Saturday, by request, 'The Torn Bible,' with lantern slides,was given. On Sunday afternoon, a Service was conducted from the van on the Common, and was well attended. Capt. Dearden spoke with great earnestness, and made a great impression on his hearers. After the Service a great number of memorial cards were applied for. The collection, through the kindness of Capt. Deardenm was given to the Coventry and North Warwickshire Hospital (it being Hospital Sunday). It was a pleasing feature to see the way in which the Congregational Chapel people attended the meetings, and also assisted the Van. It will be of interest to know that the sale of the C.A: GAZETTE has been considerably increased during the visit. The Van left on the following Monday for Bedsworth, having won a number of friends, amongst whom were several who seldom attend a place of worship, and who look forward to another visit drom the Van.
