“'So.' The C.A. work, under Capt. Smith, has been going on slowly but surely. On Saturday, a goodly number sat down to a real Church Army Tea. At night, the Vicar occupied the chair. After expressing his sorrow for not being at the Tea and Open-Air Service, he gave a few encouraging words. Earnest addresses were given by the Captains present, and solos and the singing of the Doxology brought a very profitable evening to a close. On Sunday, at 3.15, we had Capt. Wolstenholme with us. His address was champion, and we feel sure every word went deep down into the hearts of the people. At 6.45, our Captain gave the address. Many spoke of God's blessing at the Praise Meeting. We trust that the seed sown in our hearts may bring forth much fruit; so shall we be His disciples. On Monday evening our choir rendered a Service of Song, entiteled, 'Given in Charge.' the Service was also illustrated by Lantern Slides. Mr.J. Howard read the Service very touchingly indeed.
