HANSON, Captain Arthur (c.1868- after 1911) – lecturer
“Coming again: New Ferry. - A most intersting and helpful Mission was held by Capt. Hanson, in a portion of the parish of New Ferry, its headquaters being the Mission Chapel of St. Barnabas, and the National Schools.Services were held daily, and special appeals made to different classes - indoors, and out in the street - to men, women and children, the latter being taken by Mrs. Hanson. Choir singing was a great feature of the work. Several Lantern Services filled the evenings, and on one occasion an account of the Church Army Social Work was given with limelight illustrations. Much valuable aid was given by the district visitor, the members of the Brotherhood of St.Andrew, and others. The seed has been sown, God will give increase. We are all glad to know that Capt. Hanson will again be in the parish of New Ferry (this time at Port Sunlight) on Palm Sunday, April 3. Halsall Segar, Vicar. ”
