Reference
A. Harford, ‘The Church's Holy War’ in Church Army gazette

“IN THE HOLIDAYS Winterton, Norfolk. - Mr. E. N. Larner, Church Army Captain and Evangelist, gave us, during his brief holiday at Christmas, two excellent Lantern Services. On both occasions the Schoolroom was crowded, and Mr. Larner's earnest words were a strong appeal to the careless and indifferent. At the end of the second service, at the suggestion of the Rector, a collection was made for the Church Army Funds, as token of appreciation of Mr. Larner's kindness in giving up a part of his well-earned holiday in order to help us. The sum of 12s was collected, which has been forwarded to , and acknowledged by the Rev. W. Carlile, the Honorary Chief Secretary. - Flegg Parish Magazine.”
