Church Army Oxford I Van – organiser
“WARM DELIGHT Wycombe Marsh, 'Oxford' I. Van. - A Week's Mission, lasting from Sept. 19 to 25, has just ended, and I am thankful for this opportunity of expressing gratitude to the Church Army for the good work which (under God) it has done here. It is too soon yet to speak of results. They mst have time in which to express themselves, as I trust they will do in a warm delight in the Church's Sacraments, worship, and a more intelligent understanding of His claims to their love and obedience. Beyond all else, I think the Open-air Lantern Services were most effective and useful; the attendance was very large, and the behaviour reverent and attentive, and we had the people who most needed the testimony of God's love and His call to repentance. We have decided to make a large and permanent circulation of the C.A. Gazette as the best means of combining the teaching, and of keeping in touch with the healthy life which pervades the Church Army. The Gazette in the homes of the people must be an influence for good. Seymour Shaw (Curate-in-Charge)”
